We're your hosts, Dan & Michele McDonough.  We purchased the Dixie Belle in February 2002 after retiring from 20something years working in the casino industry.

Originally from the Atlantic City, NJ area, we come to Florida via upstate New York and then Lake Charles, Louisiana.

We've spent the last 5 years painting inside & out, replacing bedspreads, blankets, pillows, lamps, towels, shower heads & some new furniture.  They're looking good.  The Kitchenettes have new refrigerators, dishes, pots and utensils. We have 4 non-smoking rooms now.

Outside, Dan's landscaping projects are ongoing. You'll love the fountain in front of the office!

We have a boat wash area out front with a supply of fresh rags on hand, and Dan's "state of the art" fish cleaning station in back. 

This email arrived Sept 1, 2007 from Lyn & Diana C:  We had a great time this past week.  We left some positive feedback on the trip advisor website but wanted to let you guys know that we had a great time and wish we had stayed th entire week with you guys.  The room was bright and cheerie with nice cold a/c and was clean.  Your information was right on the mark and we just wished we had brought some charcoal and cooking stuff to grill.  Thanks again for letting us clean our scallops in your fish cleaning area.  Maybe next time we'll have some trout or redfish to clean back there.  Thanks again for a wonderful stay. . 

This is a great little place for tourists, families, fishermen, boaters, hunters and anyone else who enjoys the atmosphere and friendliness of a "mom & pop" operation.  We also value our corporate guests and offer them great weekly & monthly rates.

PS:  Michele is now a Florida notary.  She can officiate weddings on the beach, our tacky little deck or our alligator & snake infested back yard. (just kidding!)  A wedding at the Dixie Belle may not be elegant, but it will be cheap & charming!!  E-mail or call to discuss your special day.
